Leading scientific Journal, The Lancet, released a paper on the global, regional and national prevalence of overweight and obesity in children and adults during 1980-2013. According to the reports, the highest rate of obesity and overweight among adults in sub-Saharan Africa is found in South African women at 42%, while the combined rate of both overweight and obesity is 69.3%. South African men showed a 39% overall prevalence rate, with only a 14% obesity prevalence. South African boys had a 19% overweight or obesity prevalence weight, versus 26% in girls. This was the worst experience I have experience done to another human being. I was working as a Fitness Instructor. It was in the morning. I saw an over-weight women on a treadmill. I was not surprise, I was happy for that she is in the gym. #stopmakingfunoffatpeopleatthegym She was doing something about her weight. It is hard to commit to start exercising, I referred it with repenting from your sin. #skinnynaustygymdivas The skinny women #skinnybitches where passing next to her, passing rude and horrible regards. “Why is she here? She is so fat, she does not stop eating, and look how fat is she? She is so disgusting. Their faces and stares, it was like this woman had a contagious disease. I was heartbroken for her. I never saw her before in the gym.#ilovethegym I was so guilty that I did not see her early and make her comfortable. I did not know something like this will happen. It’s a gym, she is in the right place. #youarenevertoolatetoexercise While I was still wrapping myself around what was happening. The Manager on Duty was involved and the over-weight woman was in the change room crying #overweightwomen . The Receptionist saw her running to the change room. It was a serious matter. She was sobbing around this mean women. We went and comfort her. This was not right. I really did not know what to say. She did not even shower, of course she did not, and she lasted less than 20 minutes in the gym. She went home and I never saw her in gym again. I looked for her in the morning and never saw her again. This skinny women, said it was her fault she is fat. She is lazy. Why she has to eat like that? Women bodies are fat storing. We have to deal with society ideals what we should look like. Women to women we need to support each other. Stop feeling better about ourselves from the weakness of others. #womenpower #stopabusingoverweightpeople Till today I am still tormented from that day. I still don’t understand. I can imagine how this woman date start, her standing in the mirror and staring at her round face, wearing an expression of sheer disappointment, sucking in her tummy hoping that it improves the way she looks. When she step outside to the world she sense hundreds of eyes following her and dozen lips whispering less than flattering comments about her weight. She has had enough fat jokes she can write a book. Her weight make her sad, an outsider and very ashamed. Lumpy and insecure inside. Low self-esteem, depressed and miserable. Regardless of what she looks like currently or how she wants to look, there will always be detractors everywhere, letting her know that she should look different. #tormented #horror #obesityisfastgrowingprblem So many women do double duty, working harder inside and outside, than most of men will ever know. #investinyourself On top of it we must find a way to stay healthy. We try to maintain the appearance that pleases us. But let’s face it, more than half of us cannot maintain a stable healthy weight even all the self-inflicted deprivation we can master. More and more people in the developing world are overweight. The fastest selling books #bandietsbooks are diets and most wrote by men. #diets No matter how most the books appear, they are always ten more on the way. Now everything fat and protein and carbs are the enemy. First dairy products are your worst enemy, then they are the only thing you can eat. Banish the diet books! You have to also face this skinny women at the gym. We should motivate each other and understand the way our female functions, it will empower us take care of ourselves and respond to our body’s food needs every day.
